We all know that in order to get a new mobile number, you need to provide your Aadhar card details. The government has also made it mandatory to link your mobile number with the Aadhar card.

But do you know how many mobile numbers are connected to your Aadhaar number?

It would not be an exaggeration to say that the Aadhar Card is one of the most important documents in India. You must have an Aadhar card to take advantage of any welfare program offered by the central and state government. Recently, the Aadhaar number linking has been made mandatory for the bank account, IT return statement and PF account.

How many mobile numbers can a user keep in his name?

Adhaar should be needed to get a new SIM connection. Many people use more than one SIM card. Previously, the government had restricted users to having more than 9 SIM connections in an individual’s name. Subsequently, the government increased this number to 18. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), a person can get 18 new SIM cards to send his Aadhaar number. However, the government allowed 9 SIM cards for normal telephone communication. And the remaining 9 SIM cards can be used for M2M communication.

Well now you will be able to know how many mobile numbers are linked to your Aadhaar number, as the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has introduced a new web portal for this. The department has introduced a new portal known as Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection or TAFCOP which will allow users to control all phones connected to their Aadhaar numbers. But how do you detect it? To make things easier for you, we have created a step by step guide through which you can easily check the list of mobile numbers registered with your Aadhar card.

Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management & Consumer Protection (TAFCOP) has launched a new website through which you can check all the mobile numbers registered on your Aadhar card. However, according to the website, the service is currently only available to people residing in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. This service is expected to be made available in several states in the near future. That said, if you live in these two states, here’s how you can check all the SIMs registered on your Aadhar card.

  1. www.tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in Go to the website. Alternatively, you can Connection can click.
  2. Enter your mobile number in the dialog box and click Get OTP.
  3. Enter OTP in the box and click submit.
  4. With this, you will be able to see all the numbers that are linked to your Aadhar card.

How to report if you no longer need any of the listed mobile numbers or if the displayed number is not yours

If you find discrepancies in the list, you can report them on the same website. The portal gives you the ability to report that any mobile number on the list is no longer required or is not your number.

Let’s see how you can do it:

  1. Visit the TAFCOP website or Connection Click on
  2. Enter your mobile number, click on request OTP and then enter the OTP code.
  3. Once logged in, you will see a list of numbers.
  4. Under each number you will be given three options including “This is not my number”, “Not required” and “Required”.
  5. If a mobile number is not yours, you can click This is not my number.
  6. If the number is no longer required you can click on ‘Not required’.
  7. Follow the onscreen instructions to report the mobile number from the list.
